The Journey Begins

Sitting around and drinking Moscato, the bee keeper and the bourbon drinker came to the ingenious conclusion that we would spend the year cooking through a cookbook that we both owned.  Our respective kitchens lie several thousand miles apart, but our inspiration will lie within the covers of the same book.  So the Odyssey begins.  The cook book: The Smitten Kitchen.  The deadline: Next August.

The guru and master of her knife skills will share her sage advice from the Mountain West, and enjoy the 300+ days of sun from her kitchen window.  The geek in the Pacific Northwest believes that all foods are better with sauce, and will do her best to enjoy the rain with a slight chance of sun.  We will cook our way from pesto to peanut sauce.  We are two friends and two kitchens connected by a cookbook.

Our goal: to share notes on our favorite foods and to take some time to deliberately nourish our respective lives in order to fuel our other passion, education.
